I've been waiting for this show to arrive. My 1st Ryan Adams show...which I owe my mechanic a big THANK YOU because my car was out of commission and he let me borrow one of his cars for the weekend! The show rocked...although it seemed really short. Peaceful Valley drove me into a frenzy. I brought my 11 year old son, it was his first indoor theatre concert...he soaked it all in. Thanks for all of the fabulous recordings of the Cardinals 2007 tour! What a gift. How can you go wrong? Great song writing, ridiculously solid band, and dynamite sound. I had goose bumps the whole night. I agree that the show seemed short. It left me wanting more... but maybe that's a good thing. Looking at this tour, he's playing a relatively small rotation of the same songs from show to show. A little disappointing, but I'm sure there's a reason for it. All in all an outstanding show. I'm thrilled to have it on recording! Thank you! The song selection here is rather standard compared to many other '07 shows, but the playing is top-notch. Very exploratory, dreamy, and rocking. It's not the best sounding RA show on archive but it's far from the worst, either. I also particularly like the way the guitars come through on this recording. They seem more "full" than usual. The crowd kind of sucks at times, but it seems they almost always do. And at least in this case it was understandable, as Ann Arbor was FLOODED with drunks due to the football game that afternoon (which leads to a couple chunks of choice banter from the band).
